How To Get More Traffic To Your Blog
Let me just say right up front that if your blog is not properly monetized, getting more traffic to your blog is a moot point.
One of the things that EVERY blog owner should be doing is keyword research. Knowing what others are searching for is critical to your ability to bring traffic to your blog.
How about this—let’s just cut right to the chase when it comes to getting more traffic to your blog…
If the title (and content) of your blog posts do not reflect what people are searching for when using a search engine doesn’t match, then you will not get much traffic to your blog.
On the other hand…
If on your blog you talk about issues, concerns, developments etc. in your field of interest, market or field of expertise that people ARE searching for, then you have a much better chance of capturing a piece of that traffic.
And also let me say this…
There’s no rocket science involve with doing keyword research for your blog posts. Not only that, you can use the Google External Keyword Tool to do the majority of your keyword phrase research for free.
Here’s the procedure I personally use when it comes to keyword research when I produce a blog post (in draft mode) to draw the maximum traffic possible to my blog posts when I do publish that post:

If I find a keyword phrase that I feel will bring me more blog traffic, then I will adjust the title and the content of the blog post as needed to include the better, more search for keyword phrases before I publish the blog post.
Yes, it takes a few minutes to do this for each blog post, but…
The payoff in search engine position and traffic is well worth this few minutes of effort.
Here’s the bottom line:
You can blog to blog—haphazardly like most do and only get a fraction of the traffic available or…
You can be smart about it. The tools are free. There’s really no excuse.
