I would say that getting 100 unique visitors per day is a pretty darn good milestone, don’t you think?

Well, I have reached that mark on this blog as of July 2009 (3 months after launching this blog).

Would you like to know how I did it? I didn’t use any tricks or gimmicks. I didn’t use any “blackhat” or any other questionable techniques. But what I did do was build a stable and credible information platform, along with just a few proven techniques to get more traffic.

Here are the 9 secrets I used to get 100 unique visitors to this blog every day in just over 3 months:

1. I made sure that every blog post I published was keyword optimized and by using several plugins I have talked about in a previous blog post.

All the major plugins I use and why I use them are described in detail on this blog—check the featured articles section for more details.

2. I made blog posts at least every other day (yes, I could have increased my traffic by blogging daily, but I was doing some testing on different traffic sources for which I wanted to determine true value).

3. I supplement my blog posting with related Amazon resources using WPRobot. But I don’t use the “autopost” function.

Every product description I decide to use is put into draft, then reformatted and expanded using the free content builder tool so that each product description is unique and original content. I absolutely do not want duplicate content on my blog!

6. I used a fantastic social bookmarking service that will bookmark your posts by hand with full descriptions in over 100 social bookmarking sites for 19 cents a piece. I have spent $100 on this service and I am very pleased with the results.

7. I had my blog listed in blog directories by hand for 14 cents a piece by a sister company to the one mentioned above. I have spent $30 on this service and have only gotten listed in a fraction of the blog directories still available (over 1200). I also submitted my blog to Google Blog Search.

Side note: These submissions need only be done ONCE, unless you have an extended period of inactivity on your blog.

9. I have a small list of valued subscribers. Every week, I do my best to provide them something of interest and value and guide them via email to a specific blog post.

Each of those subscribers represents more visitors to the blog, which can increase your overall search engine “weight” for your blog–even with a small subscriber list.

Yes, I did spend just a little money to give my blog some more search enjine “mojo” and to make my life a heck of a lot easier—about $220, but in my opinion it was well worth it because…

Adsense revenues are covering my webhosting and autoresponder fees (since month two). And I have managed to triple my investment for services and software I described above from affiliate sales.

While not the bazillions of dollars promised in an instant from those shady online business “secrets” that actually don’t work unless you have 150 JV partners involved…

I am pleased and have actually exceeded my own 3 month expectations.

So, if wanted to know what it takes to get 100 visitors a day to your blog…

I just showed you the 9 secrets I used to do that. If you have a different way to reaching the same milestone without using questionable techniques or sevices, please use the comment box below to let me know.
