Why FaceBook And MySpace Are Secondary Internet Marketing Platforms

I have been wanting to write about this for awhile now…

I was on the phone recently with a new online business consulting client who was using both FaceBook and MySpace as their primary Internet business platforms.

Here’s a part of the conversation we had on the phone…

Client: “Why do you say that FaceBook and MySpace are secondary Internet Marketing platforms?”

Me: “Let me ask you this — how much money have you made from FaceBook?”

Client: “None.”

Me: “How much money have you made from MySpace?”

Client: “None.”

Me: “Then those are secondary Internet marketing platforms. Primary Internet marketing platforms make YOU money.”

I then went on to explain that these social networks can be great traffic generators that lead to a primary Internet platform that DOES generate income from you, whether it be from advertising or affiliate programs.

Just keep this in mind as you are learning how to use the Internet to generate income…

I believe that a blog is the perfect primary Internet marketing platform to use in conjunction with social network websites and here’s why:

Here’s the bottom line…

If you are going to spend a significant amount of time on a social network, making money for somebody else through your social networking, you may want to strongly consider starting your own blog and developing your own social network that actually pays you.

A WordPress blog is a great Internet platform to do this from.
