use-social-networksFor years successful salespeople have known that people like to deal with other like minded people. Relationship building is very important to the building of online businesses just like in offline businesses.

That’s one of the reasons that social networking websites are very popular right now. Social networking allows you to meet people with common interests and make new friends.

Some of the most prominent social networking websites include StumbleUpon, Digg, Propeller, along with hundreds of others. Unlike forum marketing where you are posting back and forth social networking starts with an article posted in the social directory.

If you have a fan club blog or business opportunity that you’re promoting online and you want more traffic, social networking should be important to you.

Articles that you post on your blog becomes search engine gateways leading from the search engines back to your blog and driving potential traffic to you also. Many blogging platforms such as WordPress offer plugins where you can bookmark your article directly to your favorite social networking directory.

What you miss with blogging if you are not doing it are the many of the benefits your competitors have that come from social networking.

Also, if you do not have a budget allowing you to buy your traffic through paid advertising methods you have to get in other ways. One of the hardest things for an average Internet marketer to do is to compete for traffic.

The best benefits of social networking are that does not cost you anything and it it easy to do once you are familiar with the process.

Social networking can have multiple benefits if you are willing to work at it and be consistent with it. It is an opportunity for you to build relationships that can lead to future business partners and sales, as well as a traffic generation resource.

The bottom line:

Don’t ignore social networking. It is becoming increasingly important in the process of building a large and profitable fan club or online business and adds value to your WordPress blogging efforts.
