Using Images In Your WordPress Blog Posts And Pages
I try to use at least one image in every blog post I publish and the reason is simple…
Images give your WordPress blog posts more life and more appeal, making them more apt to be read.
I try to include a funny or interesting image that is somehow related to the material in the blog post (but not always–I don’t think that the image to the left has anything to do with this blog post–it just looked cool to me).
And adding images to you blog posts or pages is very easy to do…
You need only click the Add an Image icon on your WordPress blog post editor:

This will allow you to select an image from your computer and place it directly in the post. You just want to make sure that you have your mouse cursor in the place in your post that you want the image to appear.
Images that are around 150×150 pixels seem to work best with this theme.
When you insert an image, there is no mechanism to provide spacing around the image. I am sure you have been to a blog or website where the text on the page is right next to the image.
To me, this looks tacky and unprofessional.
So, in order to correct that…
Upload the image to your post. Once uploaded, click on the HTML view tab and find that source code for that image. Right after the height and width and before the /> ending tag, insert this code:
[ ** This content is available to IMS Blog Members ONLY. Please Login or Register to review this content. ** ]
This will provide 10 pixels of horizontal and vertical space around your image. Obviously you can adjust this to any pixel spacing you want.
You can then return back to the Visual view in your post editor to finish and publish your blog post.
Adding images to your blog posts is very easy and only takes a minute or two to complete. If you have a really long blog post about a particular topic or subject, might I suggest that you add multiple images in order to break up your text and make your post more readable.
I don’t know about you but…
I want my blog posts to have the most impact possible when a visitor comes to my blog. I strongly believe that adding images to my blog posts helps me achieve that.
