Like all blog publishers, I constantly need original and relevant content for my blogs. Producing that material from a blank piece of paper can be difficult at times — even when you are well versed in the topic or area of interest.
Subsequently, I use the Amazon Autoposter plugin for WordPress to automatically generate book and DVD reviews for related resources (by keyword, phrase or author) that folks may want to explore.
What are backlinks? Backlinks are links to your blog or website from other blogs or webistes all over the Internet. It can be from independently hosted websites, free blogs or websites as well as from social networking websites.
Backlinks give your blog or website “authority” when it comes to placing your blog posts or web pages in the search engine results pages (SERPS). Backlinks mean power, traffic and ultimately income if your blog or website is monetized properly.
The short answer is that backlinks = more traffic. End of story.
Let me just say right up front that if your blog is not properly monetized, getting more traffic to your blog is a moot point.
One of the things that EVERY blog owner should be doing is keyword research. Knowing what others are searching for is critical to your ability to bring traffic to your blog.
How about this—let’s just cut right to the chase when it comes to getting more traffic to your blog…
I started the RealFirstSteps.com blog on April 6, 2009 (the blog you are reading now). I started with:
- Zero traffic
- No list
- No backlinks
- In a very competitive market (online business, blogging, make money online)
So, I started just like everyone else–I had determined what I wanted my blog to be about and I did some keyword research before I published my first post. That’s about it.
